Project Linus

Project Linus began with the story of Laura - a toddler who was going through treatment for Lukemia in 1995. Laura brought her blankey everywhere with her because it brought her joy and peace through her difficult chemotherapy and other treatments. This story sparked an idea into an individual, and she soon created Project Linus.

Project Linus aims to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers".

Love making blankets and want to help? Join us at Project Linus to make and sort blankets! You can bring your donations (see section below) to Project Linus on our listed sign-ups dates and stick around to assist Project Linus with making and sorting the blankets.

Date 1:  November 4th, Service and Donation Event, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Project Linus is in need of some specific blanket-making materials. If you would like to donate, please bring your donations on the dates and times listed below. The blanket material donations we are looking for are:

Donation needs: Project Linus needs new 100% acrylic yarn, 100% cotton quilting fabric, flannel, or fleece fabric to make blankets. Drop offs can be done at the November 4th event or at their drop off locations. Mark all donations “For Project Linus”.

Signing up to donate to Project Linus simply gives us an idea of how many people will be participating in donating materials. Blanket materials can be dropped off on our final day of service which will be November 14th from 10am - 1pm at St. John the Evangelist School.
