Purpose & Mission
In 2019, we started #justonesweater. Where did this idea come from? On one of my many business trips to Kalamazoo, Michigan, I met a young boy (Samuel) who has been collecting thousands of blankets for the homeless Samuel's Blankets for the Homeless. I came home thinking - we need to do something here in Anne Arundel County, even if it was Just One Sweater!
- Year One (2019) - 500+ sweaters, hoodies, and fleeces collected and distributed.
- Year Two (2020) #justonesweater crushed our goal of 1,000 sweaters….we hit close to 8,000!
- Year Three (2021) Over 10,000 articles of warm clothing were collected and distributed.
- Year Four (2022) - We are excited to announce we are an official 501c3 now.
- 2023 and 2024 - YEARS FIVE AND SIX are a success!
- 2025 - Continuing the mission!
Just One Sweater serves pantries at Eastport United Methodist Church, Heritage Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Mt Zion, Taylor Heights Elementary School. Distribution will also take place at Annapolis Gardens, Bay Ridge Gardens, Stanton Center, The Light House Shelter, and locations in Howard and Baltimore City.

Donation Needs

Donations for Just One Sweater will be collected at the final Day of Service scheduled for Friday, December 5th.
