Our mission as Passport to Serve participants will be to spark hope at the assisted living homes in our communities. 

Gift a Stuffed Animal/Doll Companion 

Passport to Serve invites you to gift a new stuffed animal or doll to a senior adults living in various Anne Arundel County memory care homes. This kind of companion has shown to provide comfort to patients who can at times be feeling frustrated, challenged, unloved or lost. 

A big thank you to our friends at Spring Arbor Crofton for this wonderful idea. Spring Arbor Crofton as well as several other assisted living homes throughout our county will be gifted the stuffed companions and dolls for those living in memory care.

Get Creative!

You are the “author” of this project - get as creative and detailed as you desire. Make this a fun family activity.

We have a list of suggestions that would assist in creating an  “identity” for your Companion.  As YOU build this stuffed companion’s “life”, here are some things you may want to include: 

Birth Certificate - Complete the certificate included in your Passport to Serve registration packet. (If you would like to print additional "birth certificates please email passporttoserve@gmail.com) 

Personal Note - Include a card or personal note 

Pictures - Capture pictures of the stuffed companion/doll your choose as they go about their daily activities. Print the photos and include them with the “Birth Certificate”.

Photo Ideas:

• Hanging with Family
•  Visiting Friends On Vacation around Town 
• At the Playground   

Attach names/stories with your pictures as a reference.

Favorites:  

• Food, color, movie, song etc. 
• Favorite things to do/extracurricular activities 
• Favorite toys 
• Favorite book (consider including it with a scripted message) 
• Other Important Information to include:
• Wakeup/Bedtime Routine    
• Medical records and/or allergies vet/hospital, town where it was born “paw” prints etc. 

Blanket: Include a small size blanket/sleeping bag with your companion
